And just what does "Mobbu" mean anyway?
“Mobbu” is a neologism from James Joyce’s Finnegans Wake. It also means “group” or “mob” (roughly) in the Japanese language’s katakana syllabic alphabet. And we simply like it because it is short and sweet.

Mobbu designs, develops and delivers mobile and internet data services principally for the public safety and security market: police forces, government organisations, logistics and security companies, and enterprises.
We are a team that loves making technology and services that work for both our customers and the people that use them.
We provide mobile software products to UK police forces and related organisations.
We also work with customers to identify and deliver solutions, and our activities range from system design and operational planning through to project management, deployment and training.
Mobbu is a privately-owned UK company based in Brighton.
The solutions we deploy:
As with all new technology projects, the platform and technology are only part of the solution, and Mobbu has considerable experience in working closely with the organisation on user engagement, training and change management issues in order to deliver the whole solution. (In short, if your people don’t see the benefit of your new project, then it’s unlikely to succeed.)
Many of Mobbu’s mobile projects are delivered on the BlackBerry platform: it’s a government-assured, secure platform. Its strengths can be summarised as real-time data availability, accuracy, security, full redundancy and, uniquely, an asynchronous/synchronous data delivery environment.
However, we remain open and agnostic: our solutions are designed so that customer aren’t locked-in – in future a handheld device (or other part of the platform) may need to be replaced with something new. We’re ready for that.
We offer a full service: interaction design, development, delivery, and service management. We glue mobile services to the web so that customers can track, manage and update them more easily. Often our projects involve integration to existing customer and third-party systems and data sources. Our work has included logistics management over web and mobile devices for the security sector, content delivery for entertainment businesses, and collaboration tools for online communities.
That our solutions actually work is more important than the raw technology – we’ll choose technologies and methods that fit the project and the customer.
